Description Actors and adm levels: "ensuring a long-term cooperation of government sectors, local communities, economy, services and program providers, science and civil society... for quality ageing" / Goal 3.3.1 Ministry of Health and Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs shall in connection with the Ministry of Finance, Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia and Pension and Disability Insurance Institute prepare a proposal on Long-term Care and Insurance Act and submit it to the Government of the Republic of Slovenia. Specific objectives / 3.6.2. fully integrated multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary care at home or in an institution when the elderly person is not capable of leading an independent life.
Major objectives The strategy sets nine global objectives to reach reach both purposes of the national strategy on solidarity and good intergenerational relations and quality ageing of the population in Slovenia, with the following three of them referring to services and/or intersectoral cooperation: ensuring a long-term cooperation of government sectors, local communities, economy, services and program providers, science and civil society (particularly organisations of the third generation) for solidarity and good intergenerational relations and quality ageing (objective 1); ensuring a steady access to quality health and social services (objective 5); and indirectly also objective 7 calling for synergies (»keeping in mind the demographic changes together with the care for quality ageing and supply in the old age when forming of all the strategic and program documents of the individual sectors where the essential grounds is synergetic responsibility of the individual and his or her family, local community and country).
Short Summary This strategy was the Republic of Slovenia's response to the issue of population ageing and European requirements to provide for new solidarity among generations. The main purpose of the strategy is to coordinate and connect the work of the competent government ministries with that of economy and the public third sector in order to increase solidarity and the quality of mutual coexistence among generations. Furthermore it aims to provide quality ageing and care of the rapidly growing percentage of the third generation. Objective and strategic options for eleven different areas are stated, followed by guidelines for designing and implementation of programs for quality ageing and good intergenerational relations and guidelines for strategy implementation are given.
