Major objectives The objectives of pre-school education defined by this law are:
- develop the ability to understand and accept ourselves and others,
- developing the capacity to negotiate, respect for diversity and cooperation in groups,
- developing the ability to recognize emotions and stimulate the emotional experience and expression,
- foster curiosity, inquisitive spirit, imagination and intuition and the development of independent thought,
- promoting language development for effective and creative use of language,
- promote the experience of works of art and artistic expression,
- ttransfer of knowledge from various fields of science and everyday life,
- promoting physical and motoric development and
- develop independence in personal hygiene and health care.
Short Summary The Act regulates pre-school education, carried out by public and private kindergartens. It lays out:
• fundamental tasks of kindergartens,
• the principles of pre-school education in kindergartens,
• objectives of pre-school education,
• organization and content of pre-school education in kindergartens and within occasional care of children at home
• regulates the financing for individual types of kindergartens (public, private, occasionally care of children at home)
• regulates the area of employment in kindergartens (education and obligations of various types of employees, supervision)
The Act also contains provisions relating to the exercise of the rights of minorities and children with special needs.
