Short Summary The “Comité de pays Verdon- Vaïre -Var” has been created in 1999 and is composed by 33 communes and 5 EPCI
The organization aims to:
- Have a reflection with the local authorities and every local actors (organizations, professionals...) on the future of the territory
- Design a consistent development project for the territory
- Draw up the Charter with the sustainable strategical priorities
- Define and implement the actions program

The charter has three parts: it introduces the territory, then performs a strategic diagnosis, and finally focuses on the main orientations for Pays A3V.

The charter permits Pays A3V to assess the territory strengths and weaknesses and to identify the threats and opportunities.

Resulting from this strategic diagnosis, the main challenges to ensure the territory development are:
- Maintaining the A3V economy in a background of regional, national and transnational competition without damaging heritage and quality of life.
- Ensuring the SGI delivery with an organization able to maintain the inhabitants quality of life.
- Developing identity by preserving cultural and heritage assets and answering to inhabitants expectations.

Commitments have been made by the charter signatories to reach these goals:

1st commitment:
Implementing an economic, cultural and social project development based on a principle of human and environment respect
The goals of this first commitment are based on:
- diversity and dynamism of economical and environmental activities.
- availability of public services in order to maintain and develop inhabitants quality of life
- attractiveness of the territory with a focus on 3 lines: employment, housing and services
- support for organizations creating economic, social or cultural activities
- maintenance and improvement of living conditions

2nd commitment:
Developing a consistency between policies, initiatives and actions implemented by local actors and supporting local communities to solve their issues by having a collective reflection

3d commitment:
Conducting a thorough reflection about the internal and external communication on the A3V identity

4th commitment:
Providing technical and financial support to Development Council






Development goals
the Pays A3V strategy is set out in 5 main objectives:
- Stimulating touristic economy (the third line is related to SGI: Employment and training in tourism field)
- Structuring and organizing territory for the benefit of inhabitants:
Infrastructures, networks and transports
Housing
Services
A reflection about services aims to deliver services in areas where they had been removed.
The territory organization is based on a public services center and a public point networks. The Pays ensures to provide a better accessibility to services in remote areas and a diversification of the services provided.
The Pays focuses on improving and developing services for families and fostering healthcare and welfare economy development.
To compensate territorial weaknesses and geographic disadvantages, A3V enhances networks solutions and integrated organizations for services.
